Deadlift Seminar at OC Gym Bend — Saturday, August 3rd at 12 p.m.
Learn to Pull Stronger, Safer, and With Confidence at Bend’s Strength Gym
If you want to improve your deadlift technique, understand your sticking points, or learn how to build a stronger posterior chain, this upcoming seminar is designed for you. Whether you’re newer to strength training or have years under a barbell, you’ll walk away with practical tools you can use immediately.
Here’s what we’ll cover.
1. Learn Both Sumo and Conventional Deadlift Technique
We’ll break down the two primary deadlift styles—sumo and conventional—so you can understand which one best suits your body and goals. You’ll learn:
- How to set your stance and grip
- How to brace effectively
- How to visualize the lift to improve bar speed and power
- Practical cues you can apply right away
Throughout the seminar, you will build to a heavy single in your chosen style to identify your natural strengths and your “mini-max” or sticking point. Come ready to lift.
2. Identify Your Sticking Point—and Learn Exactly What To Do About It
Every lifter has a unique sticking point, and knowing where yours is allows you to train smarter, not just harder. We will teach you how to determine:
- Whether your weak spot is the floor, mid-shin, or lockout
- Which assistance exercises build the main movement (block pulls, deficit deadlifts, squats, etc.)
- Which accessory exercises strengthen the muscles that support a heavy pull (GHD raises, inverse curls, reverse hypers, rows, pull-ups, shrugs, and more)
By the end, you’ll know the exact category of movements to prioritize to increase your deadlift and strengthen the tissues that keep your back and hips healthy.
3. Build a Toolbox of Movements for Every Sticking Point
Weak points change over time—especially as technique improves or training volume increases. That’s why we’ll teach multiple exercises for each of the three most common sticking points, so you’re never stuck relying on just one or two drills.
You’ll leave with:
- A list of exercises you can implement immediately
- Broader categories of movements you can choose from as you progress
- A deeper understanding of how to build your deadlift long-term
This ensures you not only improve your pull now, but also know what to adjust as your lifting evolves.
4. Learn How To Structure an Effective Deadlift Training Day
Knowing what to train is only half the equation—knowing how to put it together is what leads to steady progress.
During the seminar we’ll show you how to structure a training session from start to finish:
- How to warm up effectively
- How to choose exercises that complement one another
- How to order lifts for maximum adaptation
- How to select sets and reps based on your goals
- How to rotate through different types of strength each week to keep progressing
You’ll gain a framework you can apply to any lift, not just the deadlift.
