Do I have to be in shape to start training?

The checklist of starting doesn’t include being “in shape”.

Do I need to be in shape before I start training at OG?

If I had a dollar for every-time someone asked me this question I would be rich! I will answer in depth but no you don’t have to be in shape to start. The biggest thing you need to do is START. Today, now, immediately Start. We will change your life if you let us.

When you start at OC –

We talk with you first. We take a 15-20 minute meeting/phone call to understand what you want. What as a prospective client are looking to achieve at OC. A little history on your previous experience training . At this consultation we start formulating a plan. The plan we present you with is based upon our years of experience in helping people. We take into consideration your background in training, history of training, current level of fitness or activity level. As a result of this conversation we make a plan for you to be successful!

Why does this matter?

No two people are the same, in regards to their goals, past training history, experiences etc.

People come in that don’t need physical exercise to start, they need Nutrition – so we set them up with Nutrition help, maybe 90 days of nutrition and at home workouts gets them ready to start.

A lot of times people come in frustrated with the lack of one on one training they were receiving in their previous environment. As a result we prescribe personal training. Or maybe personal training and nutrition. Or even a hybrid of personal training and group training.

CrossFit has been around a long time – some of the training has been good and some well maybe not as much

Our goal is to help you be successful! Our 12 years of experience in CrossFit/Personal Training/Sports Performance gives us confidence we can help you if we take you on as a client. Your part of this is to trust our experience. When you join OC you get to train with other like minded people and join a “fitness community”. This community is about results. We have fun, we push each other, we hold each other accountable. Everyone here wants to be in shape. Everyone here wants everyone else here to be in shape. This means we are all going in the same direction.

The point is that there is a place for everyone to start training at OC.
